I was seriously wondering if I should even approve the above comment to go on my blog simply because it doesn't add to the conversation at all. Fine to disagree with me, but if you have nothing to add, and no real opinion to state, I wonder why you bothered to go to the trouble of actually reading the post at all, and then log in to put your 2c worth in, when it's not even worth 2c?
But heck, I'm transparent and while you're being dumb, you're not being offensive, so there you go.

Seriously, don't you have anything better to do. I think instead of emailing Aussie again, you should dial 1-800-GETALIFE.

Ummm Yep. Outback Steakhouse is an American chain. Strangely, it has set up at least one outlet in Australia now. American style food with Australian names. Weirdness.

I don't know all of the history of Aussie, but that yes, P&G acquired the brandwhen it purchased Clairol. I have looked on some products that I use, and I do see on 2 of them that they use "Natural Australian Sea Kelp". Just to say, this brand has had a great reputation for many years, and personally, I don't buy it because of any connection to Australia. I buy it because I like the product.

Sigh - Aussie/Australia..... as a brit I see the union jack spread everywhere to promote all sorts - the EEC (European Economic Comunity) make all sorts of efforts to tradfemark parmesan, parma ham and champagne to their geographic regions. But what is in a name. would not the shampoo smell as sweet (please bill shakespear sue me!) l'oreal infers french chic, not USA - erm what do we associate in our heads with the 'good ole US of A' bombs and rednex and geographic thickytude.... so the man probably thought that, like England, Scotland and Ireland, Australia is meerly a State..... one of the hawaian islands perhaps?

Get over yourself - live with it and remember they are flip flops not thongs!!!

P&G is definitely at fault for "perpetuating the hoax" as you describe it. Just because the rape of the Australian brand has been going on for a long time, doesn't mean it should be allowed to continue. If P&G wants to be seen as an ethical company, it needs to add disclaimers that the brand Aussie is in no way connected to Australia.

This "Aussie" name was invented by this Tom Redmond guy. The company was first bought by Clairol which itself was purchased by P&G.
P&G is not at fault for perpetuating the hoax.
