Making giving easier this Christmas

I’m sure I’m not the only person who gets annoyed by the bell ringers outside the supermarket. The clang clang clang is just a little too much to take. In Australia there are no bell ringers at Christmas, so maybe it’s part of the accepted holidays thing in the US that misses its mark with me. If you’re like me and wish there was a way to give to charities this Christmas that didn’t involve bells.

There is! A number of companies have begun to incorporate charitable giving as part of their Christmas line of products. It means that while you are doing your shopping, you can actually also be doing good in the world.

Hickory Farms is part of this great initiative. This year for each Party Planner gift box sold this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. To date Hickory Farmsand its customers have donated $1.9 million – that’s a stack.

Additionally, Hickory Farms has eight products that they offer free shipping to military APO and FPO addresses, including the “Home for the Holidays” gift basket shown here.

It’s so easy you don’t even need to leave your laptop – you can buy online and have the gifts delivered and at the same time be giving to those in need.

So forget the bell ringers. If you get to it now, you’ll be able to send a Hickory Farms gift basket to a special family, and be helping those in need at the same time. Congratulations!
