My Nutrisystem-sponsored* weight loss and fitness journey continues! I am so pleased that I am into double figures of weight loss! Keeping the water up, and ensuring if I feel like chewing something, I get out some sugar free gum instead of a candy bar is a really good go-to thing.
My new favorite dinner is the chicken breast, stuffed with broccoli and cheese. The way Nutrisystem works is to give you the basics – the portion size and types of food to eat. Then you supplement it with all the fresh vegetables. Forget completely packaged foods from the ground up. Instead I’m able to take these basics and create a dinner that looks every bit like the dinner I prepare for the rest of the family (except mine tastes better I think!) I do it with the spaghetti and the lasagne too.
I’ve started my physical therapy for my foot. Taping it makes a huge difference! I can walk without limping. I have some new exercises to do, to strengthen my core muscles, and I’m determined to do those and get stronger. Of course the thing with those kinds of exercises is that your muscles are generally going to be sore the next day, and that definitely happened to me. My stomach muscles were complaining, but I’m sure that’s a good thing.
It took a while this time around, but at last I’m slowing down on wanting the bad foods – creamy sauces, pastas and stodgy things that gave me security. It’s hard to come to terms with the fact that I’ve been down this path before. I find myself lacking faith in my ability to do well. It’s so easy to sabotage myself with those thoughts, and I’m starting to realize I just need to focus on other things. If I just go to work, it’s actually really easy to stay on track. I am so busy, I don’t have time to be distracted by thoughts of what I’ll call EVIL food choices. I make my own salad, and throw my Nutrisystem lunch in my bag along with a piece of fruit and a low-calorie yoghurt. Almost every day, I have a hard time eating it all! Now, if I could just do that on the weekends and during the evening, I’d be sweet!
New rule for next week: Make sure that before I decide to ‘cheat’ on my diet, I’ve eaten everything on my plan first. It’s crazy to eat something off my food plan if I have things there that I haven’t had! That said, I’m up to 10.5 pounds lost, and I can really tell the difference in my clothes. I’m planning to start going to the gym, I read how to build trap muscles somewhere and I don’t even have a plan doing that but it triggers my healthy side to start to pull some weights. No longer are they skin tight, and the jeans I bought because there was No Way I was going to admit I needed a larger size, even though there was more spilling over the top than hidden in the denim – now fit!! And are comfortable! Yep, I think we can keep this going.
